Inspired by the desire to enjoy an exquisite afternoon tea in the heart of Manchester, our warm and friendly team at Richmond Tearooms await every customer with open arms. Our award winning ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed dining experience is complemented with freshly prepared sandwiches, cakes and treats – all individually made in house with flavours and fillings hand picked by our team of Chefs.

Our weird and wonderful array of exotic and rare teas from around the world stand side by side with traditional favourites ensuring that every taste is catered for. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a last minute afternoon out, our mission is to create an experience you’ll remember for years to come.

Richmond Blend - A blend of Darjeeling, Oolong, and China Black. A full-bodied tea with a sweet malty taste. This tea was transported from the Chinese border to Moscow by camel caravan.

Chocolate Tea - Black tea blended with a hunt of chocolate. Perfect with or without milk.

Blue Lady - Chinese black tea with mallow blossom, marigold blossom, and grapefruit. Provides a light, sweet, fruity brew.

Lotus Rose - A black China tea with aromas of lotus, rose, and rose petals.

Special Blend Teas

Blood Orange - This tea pairs blood orange peels with hibiscus flowers and rose-hips for a naturally sweet, caffeine-free flavour. Rich, hearty, and tangy with a good balance of orange peel dryness and fruit juiciness.

Vanilla Chai - A sweet, spice blend with vanilla tea.

Peppermint Blac - A delicious combination of black tea and peppermint, creates a delightful balance between uplifting and soothing.

The Richmond Deluxe Breakfast - Our decedent breakfast comes with: Two Free Range Eggs (Served as you would like!), Two Cumberland Sausages, Grilled Smoked Bacon, Heinz Baked Beans, Field Mushrooms, Grilled Tomatoes, and Crispy Hash Browns. All Served with Farmhouse Toast.

Alice's Rarebit -A traditional dish made with wholegrain mustard and farmhouse cheddar. Grilled to perfection on toast with Worcestershire sauce and real ale. Served with homemade chutney.

Scottish Smoked Salmon Fish Cakes - Lightly toasted with breadcrumbs served with sweet chilli dressing and water cress garnish.

Lancashire Cheese & Onion Pie - Homemade Lancashire cheese and onion pie with a hint of wholegrain mustard, served with seasonal vegetables, chips and gravy.

Homemade Steak & Ale Pie - Good old fashioned pie filled of steak, ale, mushroom, potato, and onion. Served with seasonal vegetables, chips, and gravy.

Tweedle Dum - Croque Madame. Toasted ham and cheese sandwich, with a fried egg to top. Served with salad and homemade chutney.

Childrens Afternoon Tea -A choice of sandwich from Tuna Mayonnaise, Ham or Cheese. Cucumber and carrot sticks with hummus dip. Child size scone served with jam and butter. Cookie, Victoria sponge cake, and a choice of milkshake (vanilla, strawberry, or chocolate)

Childrens Hatters Tea - A choice of sandwich from Tuna Mayonnaise, Ham or Cheese. Cucumber and carrot sticks with hummus dip. Child size scone served with jam and butter.

Children's Sandwiches - Tuna Mayonnaise, Ham, or Cheese. All sandwiches are served with veg sticks and a hummus dip.

Cakes

Richmond Tearooms ensures we have a beautiful offering of cakes made fresh daily by our highly talented pastry chefs. The cakes we offer change from day-to-day and season by season. So ensure you take a peek inside of our fully stocked cake-fridge for our daily and seasonal cakes.

Boston Cream Cake: Vanilla Sponge with lashings of chocolate ganache and velvety crème patissiere.


Carrot Cake: Carrot cake packed with nuts, fruits, and freshly grated carrot. Decorated with lashings of cream cheese frosting.


Chocolate Fudge Cake: Three layers of gooey, chocolatey, calorific goodness. Best served warm with ice-cream.


Coffee & Walnut: Our boastful flavour of our freshly ground arabica coffee beans, paired with walnuts.


Lemon Dream: Golden vanilla sponge, soaked in a sugary lemon syrup, and topped with lemon water icing.


Victoria Sponge: A classic. Soft bouncy layers of vanilla sponge, covered in fresh cream, and strawberry jam.

ACCESS

The Tea Rooms is located in a Victorian Mill, therefore access is limited. We have two large steps outside which lead to an accessible chair lift. We also have an accessible toilet.


TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Please note that bookings are only taken for parties of 4+. Smaller groups are seated on a walk-in basis where tables will be available as soon as possible. Tables are allocated for 2 hours. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes after booking time before becoming voided. We will, however, try to accommodate you as an alternative table becomes available.


PRE-ORDERING FOOD:

To ensure we can accommodate everyone please ensure you advise us of any special dietary requirements at least 48 hours prior to your booking. Pre-Orders needed for tables of 10 and upwards on weekends and Bank Holidays and Pre-Orders needed for tables of 20 and above on weekdays.


DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS:

A deposit of £5 per person is required for all bookings.


CANCELLATION POLICY:

You must notify us of a cancellation or any changes at least 24 hours prior to your booking or risk the loss of your deposit.
